Batista Talks To Ric Flair in the Locker Room
Long before the incessant bombardment of social media interactions between the WWE and its universe Taboo Tuesday was possibly the most fan interactivity the fans had with the product. This Taboo Tuesday was the second time for this event and at the time it got my attention more than the average ppv. I remember in 1991 I loved the idea of This Tuesday In Texas PPV. A Tuesday?! on what seemed like a spur of the moment to settle a score?! I'm there! Having this on an off day like a Tuesday I would only assume isn't a great move for ppv buys, but as for progressing shorelines and keeping the fans on their toes this event opens the doors to a variety of potential OMG moments, but of course they never do, oh well.
Overall this was a cool event. Of course I am not going to put myself watching a divas cluster-fuck match or that Eugene match with Snuka. I just know better. All the undercard matches are pretty much what you would expect. Now the main events stand out on paper and going back to review them.
Flair vs HHH in a steel cage was rough as hell, but going back to see the angle being HHH who was BROs with Ric felt he was no longer great and just mediocre so he had to take him out of the game for good so he wont tarnish his legacy any further. So a steel cage match as voted on by the fans allowed HHH to get in there with the Nature Boy and tear it down in true bloodbath fashion. One other note, Joey Styles and Jerry Lawler wern't bad together. I could go for Joey getting another shot calling some matches at any level.
